What the community says

Pros

  • Gel texture feels lightweight and non-greasy, preferred in hot and humid conditions
  • No white cast and suits sensitive, acne-prone, and oily skin well
  • Doubles as a silicone-blurring primer and makeup base, sometimes used as a hypoallergenic eye primer

Cons

  • Dewy/glowy finish is a turn-off for matte-sunscreen lovers
  • Sunscreen SPF labeling removed in some markets causing confusion
  • Can pill if layered over heavy moisturizers and can feel slightly sticky

lately they've gotten more expensive and hard to find.
I gave up and went with Sun Bum SPF 50 from a drugstore and I’ve been missing out!
I’m not sure why it’s not talked about more.

Canmake only gets away with selling Mermaid Skin because they remove any hint that it's a sunscreen from the packaging and sell it strictly as a primer.
At least canmake is doing that. You can buy the mermaid sun primer in the USA.
Same level of sun protection but most Korean formulas are very lightweight/almost moisturizer texture.

Canmake Mermaid gel works well for me.
It's very glowy but I like that personally.
It also doesn't sting my eyes at all.
I also have a lot of issues with sunscreen and Canmake Mermaid gel works well for me.
